About the School
Welcome to the School of Education
St Aloysius Institute of Education, a B.Ed. college established under the Mangalore Jesuit Educational Society (MJES), has emerged as a premier institution for teacher education in Mangaluru. Since its inception in 2006, the college has been affiliated with Mangalore University and recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Over the past 17 years, it has been instrumental in shaping competent and compassionate educators under the name St Aloysius Institute of Education.
With a dynamic shift in its academic journey, the institution has now become an integral part of St Aloysius (Deemed to be University)—granted deemed university status by the University Grants Commission and the Ministry of Education in January 2024. It is now proudly known as the School of Education, duly recognized by the NCTE.
Guided by a committed and dedicated faculty, the School of Education has seen its graduates evolve into successful school teachers, administrators, researchers, college faculty, and heads of both government and private educational institutions. The institute continues to uphold the rich Jesuit tradition of holistic education, placing equal emphasis on academic excellence, leadership development, value-based learning, and community engagement.
At St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), we are committed to nurturing well-rounded individuals by fostering regular participation in co-curricular activities, experiential learning, and leadership programmes.
A warm welcome you to the School of Education—where educators are shaped to lead, inspire, and make a lasting difference.
