About the Department
The School of Education, St. Aloysius (Deemed to be University) is dedicated to preparing professionally competent, ethically grounded, and socially responsible teachers through the integration of theory, practice, and research. The department emphasizes outcome-based teacher education, inclusive pedagogy, ICT-enabled instructional practices, and reflective teaching.

Placements
School of Education offers strong placement support services designed to bridge the gap between academic training and a successful professional teaching career. The Placement Cell tries to connect student-teachers with reputable educational institutions and provide the vital skills and guidance for enrolling in teaching profession.
The cell supports students by training them in essential skills like communicative skills, soft skills, career guidance and counselling, preparation for interview, resume writing and cover letter building. The B.Ed. curriculum includes a mandatory school internship program, providing hands-on experience and exposure to real-world teaching environments. During this program majority of the students are recruited in their internship schools as graduate assistants.
Job advertisements with information are actively circulated to students, through online forums. Special classes are organized to prepare students for competitive Teacher Eligibility Tests (TET and CTET), prerequisites for teaching positions. The cell aims a job for every student to be job-ready professionals who can contribute effectively to quality education.

Bachelor of Education (B. Ed)
The Bachelor of Education (B. Ed) is a professional teacher-training programme designed to prepare graduates for effective teaching at the secondary and higher secondary levels. The course blends theoretical foundations of education with practical school-based experiences, enabling students to develop strong pedagogical skills, classroom management abilities, and an understanding of learner psychology. Through microteaching, pedagogical content knowledge, school internships, and reflective practice, the B. Ed programme equips aspiring teachers with the competencies of planning and teaching.

Candidates must have completed a bachelor's degree (B.A., B.Sc., B. Com) from a recognised university.

They must have secured a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the qualified degree.

Eligible to teach at the Primary, Upper Primary, High School, and Higher Secondary levels, depending on subject specialization.

Eligible to apply for Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) and Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) positions in CBSE, ICSE, and State Board schools.
