Established in 1990, the Department of Microbiology has evolved into a center of scientific inquiry, offering a curriculum that integrates foundational microbiology with the latest advancements. Our department emphasizes hands-on laboratory experience and interdisciplinary learning, preparing students for diverse fields. With a dedicated faculty, we foster intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, and professional growth. Students are encouraged to undertake independent projects and skill development, supported by a comprehensive collection of books, magazines, and journals.

  • Impart knowledge and understanding of microbiology concepts applicable to various fields such as medical, industrial, environmental, genetic, agricultural, and food sciences.

  • Equip students to analyze microbial problems, communicate effectively with peers and stakeholders, and implement solutions.

The students of Biological Sciences visited CMFRI in Cochin and Spice gardens in Munnar as part of their study tour from February 23 to 25th. A total of 90 students attended the tour.They were accompanied by 4 staff members.
