In January 2024, St. Aloysius College Mangaluru achieved the prestigious status of "Deemed to be University," marking a significant milestone in its continuous commitment to providing exceptional education. Department of Post Graduate Studies and Research in Physics

The Department of Physics' postgraduate section was established in 2012 and is generously supported by various prestigious bodies including DST-FIST, BRNS, UGC, KSTA, and VGST. Our department boasts well-equipped laboratories tailored for the MSc Physics course, alongside instrumentation and synthesis labs. To facilitate cutting-edge research and analysis, we offer a state-of-the-art Instrumentation lab facility. With expertise spanning condensed matter physics, radiation physics, and theoretical-particle physics, our faculty actively engages in pioneering research within these domains. We firmly advocate for an educational environment that nurtures young minds, empowering them to embark on research endeavours and develop the skills necessary to tackle future challenges.
