The Department of Industries and Commerce M.S.M.E. Directorate, KCTU & KSMCA in association with District Industries Centre, Dakshina Kannada, M.S.M.E. Development & Facilitation Office, CEOL Incubation Centre and St Aloysius (Deemed to be University) organized an Incubation Awareness Workshop under the RAMP Scheme (Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance), Government of Karnataka aimed at promoting innovation, incubation, and entrepreneurial initiatives among students and aspiring entrepreneurs held recently at St Aloysius University.
Dr Ronald Nazareth, Registrar of St Aloysius University presided over the programme, Savin Premi Lobo, Chair of Entrepreneurship and Consultancy Cell, St Aloysius University, Sri Gokuldas Nayak, Joint Director of District Industries Centre, Praveen Castelino Co-Founder & CTO of CodeCraft Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Mangaluru, Sri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar, President of Canara Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sri Sundar S. Mala, Assistant Director of MSME-DFO, Dr. Sharath Kumar Pattar, Head of Patent Cell, India Institute of Speech and Hearing and Dr Ruban S., Dean, School of Engineering, St Aloysius University were present on the dais.
In his address, Dr Nazareth highlighted the importance of nurturing innovation and entrepreneurship as key drivers of national growth and emphasized the university’s commitment to supporting such initiatives.
The workshop witnessed the participation of several distinguished dignitaries and industry representatives who shared valuable insights on MSME initiatives and incubation opportunities.
The keynote address on “Igniting Innovation: Incubation for Students” was delivered by Dr Ruban S, Dean, School of Engineering St Aloysius (Deemed to be University). His inspiring talk focused on the role of incubation in transforming ideas into impactful innovations through mentorship, research support, and entrepreneurial guidance.
Each of the speakers shed light on various facets of the incubation ecosystem, including government support schemes, industry collaboration, startup success stories, and intellectual property rights - all of which play a pivotal role in empowering young entrepreneurs.
The event also had active participation from representatives of CEOL Incubation Centre, Department of Industries & Commerce, MSME Directorate, KCTU, and KSMCA, who extended their continued support in building a vibrant startup ecosystem in the region.
The workshop drew enthusiastic participation from faculty members, students, and entrepreneurs. It served as an interactive platform for discussing ideas, sharing experiences, and exploring opportunities for innovation-led growth.
The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Ms Savin Premi Lobo, Chair of Entrepreneurship and Consultancy, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to Rev.
