The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Systems is committed to advancing education and research in intelligent computing by integrating core concepts from computer science, mathematics, and data science. It equips students with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in areas such as machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, and intelligent automation. Emphasizing innovation, industry collaboration, and ethical AI practices, the department prepares graduates to solve real-world challenges and contribute effectively to the rapidly evolving digital landscape.

Programme Objectives

The M.Sc. (Intelligent Systems & AI) programme aims to:

  1. Develop strong foundations in Artificial Intelligence, mathematics, and statistics to enhance analytical and problem-solving capabilities in complex computational domains.
  2. Enable learners to design, implement, and evaluate intelligent algorithms using machine learning, deep learning, and optimization techniques for real-world applications.
  3. Equip students with the skills to manage, process, and analyze structured and unstructured data using modern database systems and big data technologies.
  4. Provide hands-on experience in developing, testing, and deploying intelligent systems using appropriate programming languages, tools, and frameworks.
  5. Foster ethical awareness, research aptitude, and professional practices to support responsible innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration in AI-driven environments.

Programme Structure

Duration: 2 years (4 semesters)

Mode: Full-time postgraduate programme

Internship & Dissertation: Mandatory research internship and project in Semester IV.

1 ) Mr Harshit Sajal worked as a Bioinformatics Research Intern under the guidance of Dr Seema Mishra at the University of Hyderabad on the project, titled "Carmofur for Glioblastoma: Structural, Quantitative, and Energetic Analysis of Acid Ceramidase Inhibitors with Molecular Modeling and Machine Learning," focused on investigating Carmofur as a therapeutic agent for glioblastoma.

1 ) Abhiksha Shetty (24251201) First year MSc Bioinformatics student made oral presentation on the selected abstract topic titled “Exploring the Interaction Landscape of WSSV VP28- Antibody: Computational and Molecular Perspectives” at INDIA NETHERLANDS collaborative Program SPARCS on 20th March 2025

2)Harshit Sajal, second year MSc Bioinformatics student selected as an IASC-INSA- NASI Summer Research Fellow- 2024, a prestigious fellowship program jointly organized by the Indian Academy of Sciences, Indian National Science Academy, and National Academy of Sciences, India. Worked as a Bioinformatics Research Intern under the esteemed guidance of Dr. Seema Mishra at the University of Hyderabad.

3)Thirteen Students of second year MSc underwent 2 weeks training program in ‘Single Cell Technology and Bioinformatics Applications’ in RGCB during November- December 2024
