SOE Hosts National Workshop on AI Applications in Cardiology and GenAI
September 22, 2025: The School of Engineering, St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), organized a National Workshop on “AI in Practice: Data-Driven Cardiology and GenAI Models” on 22nd September 2025 at Sanidhya Hall. The workshop was designed to provide participants with both conceptual insights and practical exposure to Artificial Intelligence applications in cardiology and Generative AI models.
The inaugural session was presided over by Rev. Dr Kiran Cotha SJ, Director, AIMIT Centre. The welcome address was delivered by Dr S Ruban, Dean, School of Engineering, and the session concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Hemalatha N, Dean, School of Information Science and Technology. Two expert resource persons conducted the sessions. Dr Sivakannan S from St Joseph’s University, Bengaluru, spoke on the integration of AI with cardiology datasets, highlighting the challenges and opportunities for interdisciplinary research. Mr Mohammed Siraj B from the School of Engineering led a hands-on session on Generative AI models, where participants engaged with practical demonstrations and applications relevant to medical data analysis.
The workshop was attended by faculty members, research scholars, doctors, and postgraduate students, who actively participated in the interactive sessions. A feedback session was held at the end, followed by the distribution of certificates to the participants. The workshop was coordinated by Dr Geetha Pinto, Associate Dean, School of Engineering, and Ms Aarathi T, Assistant Professor, School of Engineering. The event successfully combined academic discussion with practical training, offering participants valuable insights into the role of Artificial Intelligence in healthcare and the emerging possibilities of Generative AI in data-driven research.
