Strategic Visit of Leadership Team from Manipal College of Dental Sciences (MCODS)
November 05, 2025: The School of Engineering, St Aloysius (Deemed to be University) organised a Strategic Visit of the Leadership Team from Manipal College of Dental Sciences (MCODS) on November 5, 2025, with the objective of exploring and strengthening research partnerships between MCODS and St Aloysius (Deemed to be University). A team of 18 members led by Dr Srikant N from MCODS participated in the visit. The program was presided by the presence of Rev. Dr Melwin D’Cunha, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Dr Ronald Nazareth, Registrar, Dr S. Ruban, Dean, School of Engineering, and several faculty members including Dr Chandrashekar Shetty T, Dr. Asha Abraham, Dr Feby Lukose, Dr Lyned Lasrado, Dr. Jiji George , and Dr E Deepak. The session commenced with a brief discussion led by the Pro-Vice Chancellor, followed by an address from the Registrar, and further remarks from Dr Chandrashekar Shetty, Research Director, and Dr S. Ruban, Dean of the School of Engineering. The discussions focused on identifying interdisciplinary collaboration areas, particularly in research facilities available at st Aloysius (Deemed to be University) and possible research topics in dental sciences research.
Following the discussion, the visiting team was taken on a guided tour of various research facilities and laboratories at St Aloysius (Deemed to be University). At the Advanced Instrumentation Centre, demonstrations and explanations were given by Mr Sachin. The Biochemistry Laboratory was introduced by Dr Lyned Lasrado, highlighting the ongoing biochemical research initiatives. In the Biotechnology Laboratory, Dr Jiji George showcased recent projects and capabilities. The Food Science Laboratory, presented by Dr Feby Lukose, featured innovations in food analysis and product development. The visit concluded with at Fr Leo Lab, which focuses on applied scientific research.
The event served as an excellent platform to exchange ideas and explore collaborative research opportunities between MCODS and St Aloysius University. The program was coordinated by Dr Praveen P D’Souza, Assistant Professor, School of Engineering.
