Student Induction Program 3 - St Aloysius (Deemed To Be University)

School of Engineering focuses on Career Skills and Communication excellence at the Student Induction Program

July 29, 2025: As part of the ongoing Student Induction Program at the School of Engineering, the day featured a joint session on the "Need for Skill Enhancement through Pre-Placement Training Modules" led by Mr Anijith Shetty, Founder & Director of Ten Seconds, Bangalore, and Dr Ramprasad H. C., Head of Academics & Operations at the same organization.

Mr Shetty focused on the importance of strengthening aptitude skills, introducing students to Vedic mathematics techniques and time-saving shortcuts that are especially useful in competitive assessments. Dr. Ramprasad emphasized the critical need for systematic training and preparation, outlining practical strategies and a structured roadmap to help students confidently approach placement challenges. Together, the session reinforced the message that early and focused skill development plays a vital role in boosting both employability and self-confidenceamong engineering graduates.

In the afternoon, students attended an inspiring session titled "Speak to Lead: Mastering the Art of Public Speaking and Impactful Presentation" by Dr Mona J. Mendonca, Faculty and Head of the Department of History at St Aloysius (Deemed to be University). Dr. Mendonca highlighted effective communication as a key leadership skill, guiding students on how to structure their thoughts, engage audiences, and deliver presentations with clarity and confidence. She offered practical insights on voice modulation and body language, and further emphasized the importance of mastering various forms of communication—oral, written, non-verbal, active listening, and contextual communication. These, she noted, are essential tools for students aspiring to lead, influence, and communicate with impact in both academic and professional environments.
