School of Engineering Induction Begins with Focus on Emotional Well-being, Media Awareness, and Academic Excellence
July 21, 2025: The second week of the induction program commenced with impactful sessions that addressed emotional intelligence, responsible media engagement, and strategies for academic success.
Mrs. Deepa Kothari, Director of Alvas Centre for Wellness and Training, Moodabidri, opened the week with an insightful session titled “Emotions in Motion: The Power of Positive Emotion.” She highlighted how cultivating self-awareness, empathy, and optimism can significantly enhance students’ personal and academic journeys.
Mr. Manoj Fernandes, faculty member at the University, followed with a session on “The Impact of Social Media.” He spoke not only about digital habits but also explored the role of social media in the functioning of institutions. He also encouraged students to critically reflect on their digital consumption patterns and adopt mindful usage practices using case studies.
Dr. Aarti Shanbagh, Controller of Examinations, concluded the series with a focused session on “Academic Excellence: Modalities,” providing students with practical tools to approach examinations, understand evaluation processes, and strive toward consistent academic performance.
