International Seminar Explores Human–AI Coexistence at School of Engineering
Mangaluru, August 12, 2025: School of Engineering hosted an International seminar on “I or AI: Coexisting in a Digital Future” at L F Rasquinha Hall, LCRI Block. The keynote address was delivered by Mr Rayan D’Souza, Manager – Market & Data Analytics, Aptar Group, France. Presided over by Dr Asha Abraham, Director (LCRI), the event opened with a welcome by Mr Mohd Siraj, Faculty Coordinator, School of Engineering, and concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr S Ruban, Dean, SoE.
Dr Abraham congratulated the School of Engineering for its forward-looking initiatives and reflected on the broader human challenge in an AI-driven world. She observed that while AI is inevitable, it is essential for humans to remain relevant and to question whether technology is preventing individuals from realizing their full potential.
Mr D’Souza examined how humanity must evolve, coexist, and transform to remain relevant in the age of artificial intelligence. He emphasized the need to ask the right questions, reflected on how AI will reshape the future of work, and identified areas where human creativity and judgment remain irreplaceable. He also introduced students to cutting-edge AI tools that can enhance learning and career readiness.
The session ended with an engaging student interaction, sparking dialogue on how young professionals can navigate a technology-driven future.
