School of Engineering engages with MAHE Expert on AI in Dental Research
Aug 16, 2025: The SOE-SDG Club organized a Faculty Research Interaction Series featuring Dr. Srikanth, Associate Dean of Manipal College of Dental Sciences (MAHE), who engaged with the faculty members of School of Engineering. The session, held at the Dean’s office, focused on exploring the intersection of technological innovation and dental sciences.
During the discussion, Dr. Srikanth reviewed various project ideas presented by the faculty and engaged in detailed deliberations on potential technological interventions in dental health research. The meeting also explored avenues for long-term collaboration between St Aloysius (Deemed to be University) and MAHE.
Key Outcomes:
● Formation of Three Research Groups: Collaborative research clusters were created with clearly defined objectives and a set deadline to implement pilot projects within a year.
● Prospects for Research Outputs: The collaborative work is expected to result in high-quality publications, patents, and grants.
● Structured Framework for Collaboration: The interaction led to the establishment of a structured model for research collaboration at multiple levels — faculty-driven projects, PhD-level research, and student participation, either individually or in combined efforts.
The event successfully laid the groundwork for interdisciplinary collaboration, aligning with the institution’s vision to integrate basic sciences, engineering, and artificial intelligence into healthcare applications.
