On 18th July 2025, a joint initiative by the Department of Computer Science and Data Science, Department of Computer Animation, and Department of Electronics brought forth an engaging workshop on the topic "Exploring Data with Power BI". The event commenced at 11:00 in Joseph Willy Computer Lab, Maffei Block.
The session was led by Mr. Thejash, Lecturer at Shree Devi Institute Of Technology who introduced the participants to the fundamentals and real-world applications of Power BI. He demonstrated how the platform can be used to analyse, visualize, and interpret data through interactive dashboards and reports. Mr. Thejash explained key features of Power BI, including data connectivity, custom visuals, real-time reporting, and the use of AI tools within the platform. Through live demonstrations and hands-on interaction, students learned how to turn raw data into meaningful insights using simple drag-and-drop techniques.
The session emphasized how Power BI is becoming a vital tool for data-driven decision-making across industries, and encouraged students to consider it as a key skill in the evolving digital landscape. A total of 89 students have attended the workshop.
