On 6th February 2023, the B.COM department of St Aloysius College (Autonomous), Mangaluru, hosted an engaging workshop titled "Practical Session on Self Defence." The session was led by Mr. Maruth S Alva, a distinguished trainer from the Institution of Karate and Allied Arts. The workshop, aimed at equipping students with essential self-defence skills, saw active participation from 76 students of the 2nd B.COM E batch, reflecting their keen interest in personal safety and self-protection.

Mr. Maruth S Alva conducted an interactive and practical session, teaching students basic self-defence techniques along with strategies to counteract and defend themselves in potentially dangerous situations. The hands-on approach allowed students to practice various attacking and blocking techniques, enhancing their confidence and awareness in real-life scenarios. The session was designed to empower students with the skills needed to protect themselves and to raise awareness about personal safety.

The workshop, coordinated by Dr. Smitha D K, provided an invaluable experience for the students, offering practical knowledge that they can apply in unforeseen circumstances.
