The Department of Botany conducted an innovative outreach programme for the Class V, VI
and VII students of St. Aloysius Primary School, Kodialbail, Mangaluru on 7th January 2025.
II B.Sc. Botany students served as resource persons and introduced the young learners to
various plant categories such as hydrophytes, epiphytes, and xerophytes. The interactive
explanations inspired curiosity and interest among the students to learn about different types
of plants. The session also provided an opportunity for the school students to observe live plant
species in the department Fern House thereby enhancing their creativity and understanding of
plant diversity. Around 25 students participated in the programme accompanied by two Staffs.
