About Our University

St Aloysius Chapel
The southern wing of the building formed the Chapel as a place of prayer for students. The Chapel built in 1885 by Rev Father Joseph Willy, is a replica of world renowned Sistine Chapel at Rome. The main part of this chapel is a large hall, which is called the nave. On either side of the nave are the two aisles. The raised platform is called sanctuary. The Aloysius Museum
The St Aloysius College Museum "Aloyseum" was started in 1913 by the Italian Jesuit Fr Chiapi with minerals, herbarium and a collection of Roman coins, a gift of the Collegio Vieta, Italy. It has now been shifted from the ‘Red Building’ to its present location close to the Chapel which gives easy access to visitors especially those coming to see the chapel paintings.

Radio Sarang
Radio Sarang 107.8 FM is came into existence in the year 2009 under the leadership of Rector, Rev. Fr Joseph Rodrigues, SJ and Principal, Rev. Fr Swebert D'Silva, SJ. It was inaugurated on 23rd September 2009 by the Hon’ble Governor of Karnataka, Sri Hamsaraj Bharadhwaj. Most Rt Rev. Aloysius Paul D’Souza, Bishop of Mangalore Diocese, Sri Nalin Kumar Kateel, M.P. and Sri U.T. Khader, MLA of Ullal Constituency were present for the programme.

Swimming Pool
The Aloysius Swimming Pool of Olympic standard is the first of its kind in the region. It is dedicated to the city as it will be able to host major events that require national or international level facilities. The main pool is 50 meters long and 25 meters wide and the complex is also equipped with a kids’ pool and other necessary infrastructure.

Ranga Adhyana Kendra
St Aloysius (Deemed to be University) Ranga Adhyayana Kendra (Center for Theater Studies) was established in the College to provide a platform for students to ehibit their talents thereby inculcating social responsibility and social awareness among the students as well as encouraging the art ingrained in them. It is possible to create social awareness through performing arts.

Mother Teresa Peace Park
Under the shades of plenty of trees, there is an open air theatre in the Main Campus of the College which is named after Mother Teresa. The space, known as 'katte' was named after Mother Theresa on September 3rd, 2016 to commemorate the canonization of Blessed Mother Theresa of Kolkata.

Aloysian Crèche
This facility is created for the children of all the staff under the Mangalore Jesuit Educational Society. Being centrally located in the campus at Kodialbail, Mangaluru, this day care center is easily accessible to the staff of Primary School, High School, St Aloysius Gonzaga School, PU College and the Degree College.
