St Aloysius Ranga Adhyana Kendra
St Aloysius (Deemed to be University) Ranga Adhyayana Kendra (Center for Theater Studies) was established in the College to provide a platform for students to ehibit their talents thereby inculcating social responsibility and social awareness among the students as well as encouraging the art ingrained in them. It is possible to create social awareness through performing arts.
Aims & Objectives
- For continuous theater activities – theater productions and theatrical performances by leading troupes of the country
- To conduct different kinds of seminars, workshops, dialogue programs on theatre and performing arts
- Continuous training in many dimensions of drama
- To conduct Certificate Course in Drama and Yakshagana
- A comparative study with other performing arts
- Associating with other theater groups to make our students the beneficiaries
- Building a street theater team of students
- Communicate the importance of team work through theater activities and develop emotional attachment to the organization
- To inculcate social responsibility and social awareness among the students and enable progressive thinking
Through Ranga Adhyayana Kendra, several plays were performed in LCRI Hall of the College under the guidance of Mr Christopher D’Souza, an eminent theatre artiste trained in Neenasam.
