Dr. Santhosh Wilson Goveas is an accomplished academic and researcher with extensive experience in biotechnology, specializing in molecular biology, in vitro and in vivo animal studies, plant tissue culture, and cancer research. He holds a Ph.D. in Biotechnology from Mangalore University, with a focus on the antidiabetic properties of Coscinium fenestratum. Dr. Goveas is a qualified KSET (Karnataka State Eligibility Test) and has guided numerous undergraduate and postgraduate research projects.
Dr. Goveas has received research grants from UGC, VGST, and MJES and has led and co-led projects on studying the bioactive potential of seaweeds from coastal Karnataka, marine pollution, eco-toxicity, antimicrobial screening, and sustainable industrial applications. He has also published 13 Research articles in peer-reviewed journals and a book chapter. Currently, he is a recognized guide in Biotechnology at St Aloysius (Deemed to be University),Mangaluru.
As a passionate educator, Dr. Goveas emphasizes hands-on learning and has attended and conducted workshops on Plant Tissue culture Techniques, SDS PAGE, PCR, and Cytotoxicity, His academic identity is linked with prominent scholarly platforms, including Google Scholar, Scopus, and ORCID. His dedication to academic excellence and research innovation has contributed significantly to advancing biological sciences and environmental sustainability.
