With an illustrious career spanning over two decades, Dr. Renita Maria D’Souza is a passionate educator, researcher, and mentor in the field of biotechnology. Currently serving as the Associate Dean of the School of Life Sciences and an Associate Professor in the Department of Biotechnology, she has been a driving force in shaping scientific minds at St. Aloysius (Deemed to be University).

She  holds a Ph.D. in Biotechnology, with her research focusing on the isolation, purification, characterization, and cytotoxic effects of L-asparaginase—an enzyme with immense therapeutic potential. Her academic journey is marked by a deep commitment to innovation, critical thinking, and student-centric learning.

Beyond her teaching expertise, she has taken on multiple leadership roles as a faculty member, class guide, and mentor, nurturing students to excel academically and professionally. Her dedication extends beyond the classroom, contributing to research, curriculum development, and academic administration.

A firm believer in scientific inquiry and practical learning, she continues to inspire future biotechnologists, fostering a culture of research, excellence, and discovery

1.      Attended international conference SACAIM 2018 at Beeri and did oral presentation on the topic “Identification of a Novel Strain of Extracellular L- Asparaginase Producing Scopulariopsis brevicaulis (Sacc.)
