On the occasion of International Mother Language Day, the Konkanni Sangha and Department of Konkanni at St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), in association with Canara Konkani Sangha (CASK), organised ‘Gumot Gin’yan’, a workshop on traditional Konkanni songs.

The programme aimed at promoting awareness about the richness of the Konkanni language and preserving its musical and cultural heritage among the youth.

Emphasis on Mother Tongue Preservation

CASK Vice President Mrs Marjoori Taxeira presided over the function and highlighted the importance of safeguarding mother languages. She appreciated the enthusiastic participation of the youth and encouraged continued interest in ancestral traditions.
