Introduction

St Aloysius College (Deemed to be University) Mangalore, the Department of Physical Education was established in the year 1890. It is well equipped with indoor as well as outdoor sports and games facilities. It prepares its athletes and sports persons to participate in university, state, and national level events. The students of the department have bagged several prizes and medals in various sports and games events. The college team, men & women players, have contributed towards the top honors in the Inter-Collegiate Overall Championship & Association tournaments. Even with the change in trends of the present education system and the academic pressure, sportsmen & women have kept the Institution flag high in the circle of sports and games. The college aims to enthuse men and women to excel in the field of education. The Department of Physical Education organizes Aloysian Leagues tournaments in various sporting events to ensure mass participation and also conducts Annual Sports Day sports events for the men and women section.
