REPORT ON WORKSHOP RESEARCH TO START-UP

The Loyola Centre for Research and Innovation in collaboration with Entrepreneurship and Consultancy Cell had organised a workshop on the topic “Research to Start-Up” on 10 August 2023 at the Fr LF Rasquinha Auditorium, witnessed the active participation of 340 postgraduate science students hailing from various departments.

The workshop aimed to bridge the gap between academic research and entrepreneurial ventures, providing students with valuable insights into transforming their research endeavors into successful start-up ventures.

The workshop featured two distinguished resource persons Dr K Sudhakara Prasad, Associate professor, Yenepoya Research Centre, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), Founder and Director, Papersens Pvt. Ltd, who shared his journey from academia to establishing a successful startup. His narrative intertwined academia and industry, offering a tangible roadmap for aspiring entrepreneurs. Dr. Manesh Thomas, Chief Executive Officer, Manipal-Government of Karnataka Bioincubator, Manipal, Karnataka, India.576104. His expertise shed light on the intricacies of fostering innovation within a research-intensive environment, particularly in the biotech domain.

The event proved to be a remarkable platform for students to grasp the nuances of transforming research outcomes into real-world entrepreneurial ventures. The participants gained a comprehensive understanding of the strategies, challenges, and opportunities in this journey. This workshop not only enriched the participants' knowledge but also ignited their entrepreneurial spirit.
