About the Department

The Department of Malayalam was established in 2008, offering Malayalam as a second language at the undergraduate level. In addition to classroom instruction, the department focuses on enhancing students’ literacy and cultural engagement through various activities.

Malayalam is available for first-year students in BCA and BBA programs, as well as for first- and second-year students in B.A., B.Com, B.Sc., and BSW programs. The department aims to cultivate language skills while fostering an appreciation for Malayalam culture, literature, and heritage, preparing students for a deeper connection with the language and its rich traditions.
