Financial Independence Retire Early (F.I.R.E) Movement on  12th May 2022 

St. Aloysius College, department of Commerce organised a guest talk on  “Financial Independence Retire Early Movement” on 12th May 2022, venue  AR803. The program started at 2:00 p.m. with the prayer followed by the welcome  address by Ms. Carol. The dignitaries were the resource person CA Vikram Jude  Saldanha, who is currently a partner at D'Souza and Lobo Chartered Accountants  since 2020 and is also a facilitator for CA students at orientation and Management  & communication skills level, Dr Shobha, HOD of commerce, Ms. Rishal Disha  D'Souza, the convenor of the program, Ms. Sharoon D'Souza, Ms. Vinita Deepa  Lobo of Commerce Department.  

The guest speaker CA Vikram Jude Saldanha shared his insights highlighting the  concept ‘20’s as the most important decade of one's life’. He emphasized on the  concept of the F.I.R.E that is ‘Work to live, don't live to work’ with the objective  to accumulate assets to provide passive income and to save up to 70% of one’s  after tax income. He gave several examples stating the need of financial IQ, not  financial degree. He also emphasized on being financially independent and retire  early which doesn't mean to stop working, it just means living life on one’s own  terms.  

Mr Vikram Jude Saldanha was felicitated by Ms. Rishal D’Souza, the convenor of  the program. Students of 2nd B.Com A and 3rd B.Com D were present for the  session. The program wrapped up at 3:00 p.m. Ms.
