The Department of botany organised a guest talk on the topic 'Lichens- The Unsung Beauties of Nature' on September 6th 2023. The guest talk was addressed by the resource person Dr Vinayaka K.S, Asst. Professor and HOD of Botany department in SVS College, Bantwal.

The event began with soulful prayer by Ms. Farell of I BSc.  Mr. Charan of III BSc introduced the guest speaker. The resource person explained about various ecosystems and biodiversity in India. He highlighted on Cryptogams and their diversity in India. He briefed about classifications of different groups under Cryptogams. He highlighted the role of Lichens in nature, their economic importance and future scope in Botany. The session was concluded with vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Shlaghana of III BSc.
