The Department was established in the year 2018 with an intake of 30 students.

Vision

Imparting a blend of technology and strong analytical skills to develop students into versatile data analysts. The focus is on facilitating data analytics on huge datasets using analytical thinking to generate practical and innovative solutions.

Mission

The M.Sc. Big Data Analytics program will educate students to analyze various forms of voluminous data and gain hands-on experience with large-scale analytical tools to solve complex big data problems and extract meaningful information.

Program Objectives

The intent of the M.Sc. (Big Data Analytics) program is to produce Big Data Analysts who are capable of:

• Developing skills to use technology for analyzing large volumes of data and applying necessary techniques to gain insights and provide meaningful information.
• Participating effectively as a member of a data analyst team by applying skills and tools to manage and analyze Big Data.
• Recognizing and evaluating the opportunities, needs, and limitations of data.
• Becoming data scientists and data engineers in a fast-growing world.
• Making an impact on society by applying the skills and abilities learned during the course with strong work ethics.

The intent of the M.Sc. (Data Science) program is to produce Data Scientists who are capable of:

• Applying data pre-processing techniques to make data ready for analysis.
• Conducting Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA).
• Gaining expertise in using the latest data analytic tools.
• Generating data visualizations and interpreting hidden patterns.
• Acquiring the expertise required to meet industry needs.
