My research lies at the intersection of computational condensed matter physics and quantum materials science, with a strong emphasis on theoretical predictions and materials discovery using Density Functional Theory (DFT). I am particularly engaged in the exploration of Topological Quantum Materials, which possess symmetry-protected electronic states arising from non-trivial band topology. These materials host novel quantum phenomena such as robust surface states, Dirac and Weyl fermions, and quantum anomalous Hall effects, which make them highly promising for advanced quantum and spin-based technologies.

A significant component of my work involves investigating the spin-resolved electronic structure and magnetic properties of topological systems, with a focus on their potential applications in spintronics. Spintronics aims to utilise the electron's spin degree of freedom, alongside its charge, for information storage and logic devices, offering advantages such as lower energy consumption, non-volatility, and faster data processing.

Using first-principles calculations, I analyse crystal symmetries, band structures, Berry curvature, and spin textures to identify and characterise candidate materials with desirable topological and spintronic properties. My research contributes to the fundamental understanding of topological phases and supports the rational design of novel materials for practical use in quantum computing, spintronic memory devices, and low-dissipation electronics.
