Assistant Professor Stage I
MSc in Zoology, CSIR-UGC NET and KSET, NET, CSIR-UGC NET
Greetings! I am Mr Glavin Thomas Rodrigues, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Zoology at St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), Mangaluru. I have a deep passion for understanding and conserving the rich biodiversity of India's freshwater ecosystems, with a particular interest in freshwater fishes. My work primarily focuses on molecular taxonomy and population genetics, which allows me to contribute to the preservation of threatened species and habitats.
Beyond my research, I am dedicated to fostering environmental awareness and stewardship among students and the community. I actively lead several initiatives and volunteer groups at the university, aiming to promote sustainability and hands-on learning experiences. Through my teaching, research, and outreach efforts, I strive to inspire the next generation of scientists and conservationists to make a positive impact on our planet.
