About

Dr Shwetha Rasquinha is the Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Social Work at St Aloysius (Deemed to be University) Mangalore. Additionally she serves as the coordinator of Equal Opportunity Cell, ST and SC Cell of the University and also member of the Student Grievance Redressal Cell.

Her research interest comprises mental health, youth, gender studies, psycho social wellbeing of caretakers of chronic and terminal illnesses, correctional social work, tribal welfare and children. She has presented her research papers in the conferences held at Rome, Indonesia and Belgium. As an Associate Professor her teachings include courses of Human Rights, Community Organisation, Corporate Social Responsibility and Rural/Tribal Development.

Furthermore, she has been responsible for providing guided internships for students at National Human Rights Commission, tribal communities of Tanzania in South Africa and other nationally and globally recognised firms. She has served as coordinator of ‘Unnat Bharath Abhiyan’ a Central Government program for Higher Education Institutions and been responsible for adoption of villages around the University for social development.

She also serves as guide for doctoral studies in social work and provides consultancy in ethical conduct of research and doctoral advisory committee of other universities
