Dr Alwyn V. D’Sa is an Associate Professor of English and Controller of Examinations at St Aloysius College (Autonomous), Mangalore. He has 28 years of teaching and research experience both at the Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels. He has been a resource person at the UGC- Academic Staff College, Kannur University Refresher Course for teachers of languages on Comparative Literature. He was instrumental in establishing the state-of-the-art, digital language laboratory in the college and has designed several short term add on courses for students on English Language Skills. He has conducted more than 50 training workshops for teachers and youth groups on teaching methods, soft skills, communication skills and teaching English as a Second Language. He is an avid Rotarian and has been engaging himself in active community service holding different assignments in Rotary International. Dr Alwyn D’Sa has published several research papers in renowned research journals. He has also published many articles in Konkani in regional Konkani periodicals. He is the former Dean of Humanities and Languages, former Director of the Administrative Block of the College. He has served as the editor of the College Annual magazine for 10 years. He is a popular Resource Person for Youth Development Training Programmes and has conducted more than 100 such workshops. He has been invited to write Blocks on English Language Skills by Manipal University and has been appointed the Chairperson of the Konkani Text Book Committee by Government of Karnataka. Recently he has been appointed the Controller of Examinations. Mangalore University has recognized him as a Research Supervisor to guide PhD students in English.
