St Aloysius College added yet another feather to its cap by starting the St Aloysius Institute of Civil Services (SAICS) in 2018, in collaboration with Alternative Learning Systems (ALS), New Delhi.

Mission:
St Aloysius Institute of Civil Services was established to promote Civil Service aspirants on realisation of the need for a full-fledged coaching institute in the region. The Institute aims at giving a comprehensive package to Civil Service aspirants and prepare them with a competitive edge for the Preliminary, Main and Interview rounds of the Civil Services Examinations.

Objectives:

  • To advance the career prospects of youth who have the potential for high-ranking Civil Service placement but cannot afford the expensive coaching available only in big cities
  • To widen and deepen the knowledge base of the candidates, and sharpen their aptitude and skills
  • To bring Civil Services Examination coaching within easy reach of the candidates

Coaching for Civil Services - Full Time & Weekend courses

The Civil Services Examination (CSE) is a nationwide competitive examination in India conducted by the Union Public Service Commission for recruitment to various Civil Services of the Government of India, including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS) among others. It is conducted in three phases – a preliminary examination consisting of two objective-type papers (General Studies Paper I and General Studies Paper II also popularly known as Civil Service Aptitude Test or CSAT), and a main examination consisting of nine papers of conventional (essay) type, followed by a personality test (interview).

Full time Course (One Year):
This coaching is meant for Graduates/Post Graduates with more than 300+ Sessions of the Intensive Learning for GS Main paper I, II, III, IV, Eassy, Prelim & CSAT
 
Weekend Course (Two Years):
This course is specially meant for students who would like to prepare for Civil Service Examinations along with their regular Undergraduate or Postgraduate studies.  Classes are conducted on Saturday & Sunday afternoons.

Association with Alternative Learning Systems (ALS):
St Aloysius Institute of Civil Services has associated with ALS, an Institute of repute with the goal of providing quality training to the Civil Services aspirants to prepare well for Civil Service exams. The classes are transmitted live from the ALS centre, New Delhi through satellite using VSAT Technology. ALS has been nurturing their pupils loftily and seeing them crack the Civil Services Examination with poise. This explains why as many as 20 percent of the total seats are secured annually by ALS alumni. The Institute offers a rich and rewarding mix of courses, creative teaching methodology and maximal academic exposure in an inspirational environment.

Workshop on “Civil Services – Plan, Prepare and Perform”


St Aloysius Institute of Civil Services organized a workshop on “Civil Services – Plan, Prepare and Perform” on 24th February 2019 in Sanidhya Hall, St Aloysius College, Mangaluru. Sri Shreyas K.M., IRS was the resource person for the workshop. He gave insights to the participants as how to crack Civil Services Exam and stressed on the need for perseverance and commitment on the part of IAS aspirants. Around 120 participants from in and around Mangaluru attended this workshop.

Rev. Dr Praveen Martis, SJ, Principal of St Aloysius College (Autonomous) spoke about the relevance of the institute of Civil Services in this region and also provided the information about the courses offered by this institution.

Ms Nazeera Mohammed, Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax, Dr Selvamani, IAS, CEO of Zilla Panchayat, Mangaluru were present on the occasion. Dr Selvamani, IAS provided some tips to the IAS aspirants regarding UPSC/KPSC exams.

Dr Donald Lobo, the Co-ordinator of the Institute welcomed the gathering. Dr Joyce Sabina Lobo compered the programme. Mr Larsen Correa, Asst. Co-ordinator proposed the vote of thanks.

Second Workshop on “Civil Services – Plan, Prepare and Perform - II” on 24th March 2019

St Aloysius Institute of Civil Services organized its Second Workshop on “Civil Services – Plan, Prepare and Perform - II” on 24th March 2019 in Sanidhya Hall, St Aloysius College, Mangaluru. Mr Anthony Santhosh Mariyappa, IFoS was the resource person for the workshop. He gave insights to the participants as how to crack Civil Services Exam and stressed on the need for perseverance and commitment on the part of IAS aspirants. Around 100 participants from in and around Mangaluru attended this workshop.

Rev. Fr Pradeep Anthony, SJ, Director of Arrupe Block provided the information about the courses offered by this institution.

Dr Donald Lobo, the Co-ordinator of the Institute welcomed the gathering. Dr Joyce Sabina Lobo compered the programme.

St Aloysius Institute of Civil Services organized its Third Workshop on “Civil Services – Plan, Prepare and Perform - III” on 23rd June 2019 in Sanidhya Hall, St Aloysius College, Mangaluru. Mr Subramanian G., IRS was the resource person for the workshop. He gave insights to the participants as how to crack Civil Services Exam and stressed on the need for perseverance and commitment on the part of IAS aspirants. Around 100 participants from in and around Mangaluru attended this workshop.

Mega Seminar on “How to Crack Civil Services  Exam” on 4th July 2019

St Aloysius Institute of Civil Services in association with Alternate Learning Systems (ALS), New Delhi, organized a mega Seminar on “How to Crack Civil Services  Exam” on 4th July 2019 in main Auditorium, St Aloysius College, Mangaluru. Indian’s Best IAS Mentor and Chief Executive Director of ALS, Sri Jojo Mathew was the resource person. He delivered a lecture on How to Crack Civil Services Exam to the interested IAS aspirants.
