Guidelines to students on Covid-19 - April 17, 2020

TO THE NOTICE OF ALL STAFF, STUDENTS AND PARENTS

17 – 04 - 2020

As we all know, the Covid-19 nationwide lockdown has been extended up to May 3, 2020 by the Central Government. In this context, I would like to bring to your notice the following guidelines and request all of you to follow them diligently and not give heed to rumours and hearsay:

At the outset, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all the staff (teaching and non-teaching), students and parents for being patient, staying home, and for evoking hope during the last 24 days of the nationwide lockdown. You have followed the guidelines given by the government and health departments and for being instrumental in the successfully dealing with the pandemic in our own little ways though the battle is not yet complete.

It is indeed heartening to see that many departments have been constantly engaging with student groups by conducting online classes and sharing material/notes on different online platforms and social media. Students have expressed their appreciation to the online classes and I would seriously suggest that other departments also do the same in the next 12-15 days not only teaching the syllabus that is incomplete but also conducting revision and sessions to clarify doubts/queries of students online. This will go a long way in enhancing the confidence level of the students while appearing for the ensuing End semester Examinations.

My gratitude is also due to the non-teaching staff who have been responding to the administrative and house-keeping needs of the College and keeping the campus clean and green.

The End Semester Examination Schedule and time table will be posted/ displayed on the College Website and other College official staff and student IQAC groups 15 days in advance. Hence students are earnestly asked to consider the coming days as serious Revision Study Vacation and gear up for the upcoming examinations.

Students are expected to engage seriously in interactive online sessions with teachers and clarify doubts, share academic materials with one another besides continuing to meticulously follow all guidelines given by the state and health authorities from time to time.

Since the present uncertainty caused by coronavirus is a nation and world-    wide phenomenon, students are advised NOT to worry about the delay in the conduct of examinations. You are ensured that once the exam commences, the work regarding valuation and announcement of results will be expedited without any delay.

We would like to inform you that the process of Online Admissions for the Academic Year 2020-21 has already started. We have been receiving online applications during the last month both for the UG and PG programmes. Kindly pass the message across to your friends, relatives and acquaintances that the College online interviews and admissions will commence shortly.  Let them apply online by logging in to the College Website immediately.  Applications will be scrutinized /verified and online interviews will be conducted immediately.

The Management of the College, MJES has been engaging in reaching out to persons and families who have been critically affected by the pandemic and the resultant nationwide lockdown. It has been working on a daily basis identifying the affected people and distributing well planned ‘kits’ containing day to day essentials of quality networking with civic bodies and men and women of goodwill. Thousands of such kits are being distributed to the needy on a daily basis, especially to the migrant laborers, families of the needy students of St Aloysius Institutions and daily wage workers at different locations in the city and outside. I am sure, the staff and parents must have been busy doing your bit and lend a helping hand to the affected persons. As suggested earlier you are most welcome to join hands with the Management by contributing your mite in supporting the deserving families.

Once again, I wish you best of health, concentration for your preparations for the examination and advise you to follow strictly all the guidelines issued by the government and health departments. You are specially remembered in our prayers during this time of Covid-19 Crisis.

Stay home! Stay safe! Take care!
