Year of Establishment: 1989

Vision: To be the leading Statistics department by offering effective and good opportunities for higher studies and preparing students to be placed in good companies.

Mission: To provide high quality undergraduate educational programmes by adoption of unique teaching methods and preparing students to pursue satisfying and  productive careers and qualifies them to enter competitive fields in line with the community.

Objectives:
1. To provide for professional graduates in the field of Statistics.
2. To conduct theoretical and practical studies in the field.
3. To provide training for students in the different organizations as a part of the community service.
4. To train the students in all data analysis software (Python, R language, SPSS and Matlab).

Syllabus

Department designed the curriculum to provide academic competence in the areas of both theoretical and applied Statistics, enhancing the professional objectives of students. The Curriculum includes classroom lectures, practical, assignments on related topics of syllabus, Class presentation, Seminars, workshops, Poster and Oral Presentation.

B.Sc. Semester I – Descriptive Statistics & Probability. B.Sc. Semester II – Probability Distributions.
B.Sc. Semester III – Statistical Inference I. B.Sc. Semester IV – Statistical Inference II.
B.Sc. Semester V – Design of Experiments, Total Quality Management (Elective 1), Regression Analysis (Elective 2). B.Sc Semester VI – Sampling Theory, Operation Research (Elective 1), Simulation (Elective 2.).
