The Department of Social Work began in the year 2002 to equip students for professions based on scientific knowledge and skill in human relations. It is a undergraduate study, in combination with three years of field experience.

The program allows students to choose the direct practice track focusing on direct practice with clients, or a macro practice track with the focus on political advocacy, community organizing, policy analysis and human service management.

The knowledge gained and the practical experience acquired in the three year duration of B.A. (Social Work) helps the students to either go for higher studies like MSW or MBA. They also have the scope to work in organizations.

The department has collaborated with schools, women and child welfare department, hospitals and NGO’s.
