St Aloysius College holds EUNOIA – Intercollegiate Competitions 2023

The National Service Scheme (NSS) and Youth Red Cross (YRC) of St Aloysius College (Autonomous), Mangaluru, organized one-day Intercollegiate Competitions EUNOIA – 2023 on 24th January 2023 in Eric Mathias Hall of the College for the students of colleges affiliated to Mangalore University. 

Dr Gananatha Shetty Yekkar, former State NSS Officer, inaugurated the programme. Dr Nagarathna K.A., NSS Co-ordinator, Mangalore University was the Chief Guest. Rev. Dr Praveen Martis, SJ, Principal of the College, presided over the programme. Ms Carrol Sharal Pereira and Ms Kavitha B, the staff convenors and Mr Vaishak & Mr Macwin DSouza, the student convenors were on the dais.

Inaugurating the program, Dr. Gananath Shetty said, “Cultural activities give mental peace. Therefore, great importance is to be given to such programs. These programs are necessary to keep away from unpleasant incidents in the society. To be away from such incidents, we should forget the differences between caste or creed and try to build the minds together. This will also increase the life skills of the students. Regardless of winning or losing, the spirit of competition is important," he said.


Principal Rev. Dr Praveen Martis said that humanity should be important in us. He also said that there are many castes and religions, except that we are all one.

Mangalore University National Service Scheme Co-ordinator Dr Nagaratna K.A., said that when we involve ourselves in extracurricular activities, we can come to the forefront of the society. When we participate in such a programs at the college level, we will be able to compete later in life. She said that where there is an attitude of obedience and respect for the teacher and elders, talents will be revealed.

The competitions were conducted under 4 themes, such as Kalarava, Kalashreni, Kaichalaka & Kairuchi.

Mr Justin Joy compered the programme. Ms Carrol Sharal Pereira welcomed the gathering. Mr Macwin DSouza proposed the vote of thanks.
