MA (Journalism & Mass Communication)

Candidates who have passed any Bachelors Degree examination of Mangalore University or any other Universityconsidered as equivalent thereto are eligible for the programme provided they have secured a minimum of 45% marks (40% for SC/ST/Category-I Candidates) in aggregate Including Languages and Group III Subjects. Selection of candidates shall be on merit-cum-reservation on the basis of 50:50 weightage for marks in the entrance and qualifying examinations.

M.A. IN ECONOMICS

Candidates who have passed the three year B.A. degree examination of Mangalore University or any other University considered as equivalent thereto with Economics as major/optional/special subject are eligible for the programme provided they have secured a minimum of 45% (40% for SC/ST/Category-I candidates) marks in the Economicssubject.

M.A. IN ENGLISH

Candidates who have passed the three year B.A. degree examination of Mangalore University or any other University considered as equivalent thereto with English as major/optional subject (the cognate subject) are eligible to apply for the programme provided they have secured a minimum of 45% (40% for SC/ST/Category-I candidates) marks in the cognate subject.

Candidates who have studied English as either the first or second language at the graduate degree level for not less than two years/four semesters and candidates who have studied Additional English of Mangalore University for not less than two years/four semesters are also eligible to apply provided such applications have scored not less than 60% marks in aggregate in the examination of the subject. The marks scored in the English First or Second Language examinations or Additional English examinations would be equated with the marks of optional English (the cognate subject) as follows:

  • 60% in English as First or Second Language to 45% of optional English (the cognate subject).
  • 60% in Additional English is equal to 48% of optional English (the cognate subject).

MASTER OF SOCIAL WORK (MSW)

Candidates who have passed any Bachelor Degree examination of Mangalore University or any other considered as equivalent thereto are eligible for the programme provided they have secured a minimum of 45% (40% for SC/ST/Category-I candidates) Marks in Optionals. Selection of candidates shall be on merit-cum-reservation on the basis of 50:50 weightage for marks in the entrance and qualifying examinations.

Candidates who have passed the B.A.Ed. Degree examination (Regional College Scheme) are eligible for the  PG programmein the faculty of Arts provided they have secured a minimum of 45% (40% for SC/ST/Category-I candidates) marks in the relevant subject to fulfill other conditions specified above for the relevant subject.

M.COM

Candidates who have passed the three year B.Com/B.B.M/B.B.A. degree examination of Mangalore University or any other University considered as equivalent thereto are eligible for the programme provided they have obtained not less than45% (40% for SC/ST/Category-I candidates)marks in aggregate in all the subjects Excluding Languagesand GroupIII Subjects.


M.COM (FINANCE AND ANALYTICS):

Candidates who have passed the three year B.Com./B.B.M./B.B.A./ degree examination of Mangalore University or any other University considered as equivalent thereto are eligible for the programme provided they have obtained not less than 45% (40% for SC/ST/Category-I candidates) marks in aggregate in all the subjects excluding languages and group III subjects.

 

M.Sc. IN ANALYTICAL CHEMISTRY

Candidates who have passed the three year B.Sc. degree examination of Mangalore University or any other University considered as equivalent thereto with Chemistry as optional/major/special subject with a minimum of 45% (40% for SC/ST/Category-I candidates) marks in the subject are eligible for the programme provided they have studiedPhysics and Mathematicsas optional/major/special/minor/ subsidiary subjects either at B.Sc. or at P.U.C./Higher Secondary level.

M.Sc. IN BIOCHEMISTRY

Candidates who have passed the three year B.Sc. degree examination of Mangalore University or any other University considered as equivalent thereto with Biochemistry/Chemistry as optional/major/special subjectswith minimum of 45% (40% for SC/ST/Category-I candidates) marks are eligible for the programme provided they have studiedBiologyas major/optional / minor /Special/subsidiary subject either at B.Sc or at PUC/ Higher Secondary level.

M.Sc. IN BIOTECHNOLOGY

Candidates who have passed the three/four years B.Sc. degree examination of Mangalore Universityor any other University considered as equivalent thereto with Life Science subjects provided they have studied Chemistry/Biochemistry as one of the major /optional /subsidiary subject and have secured a minimum of 45% marks (40% in case of SC/ST/Category-I candidates) in aggregateExcluding Languagesand Group III Subjectsare eligible for the programme.

M.Sc. IN CHEMISTRY

Candidates who have passed the three year B.Sc. degree examination of Mangalore University or any other University considered as equivalent thereto with Chemistry as optional/major/special subject with a minimum of 45% (40% for SC/ST/Category-I candidates) marks in the subject are eligible for the programme provided they have studiedPhysics and Mathematics as optional /major /special/minor/subsidiary subjects either at B.Sc. or at P.U.C./Higher Secondary level.

M.Sc. IN PHYSICS

Candidates who have passed the three year B.Sc. degree examination of Mangalore University or any other University considered as equivalent thereto with Physics as major/optional/special subject are eligible for the programme provided they have studied Mathematics as major/optional/special/minor/subsidiary subject for at least two years and secured a minimum of 45% (40% for SC/ST/Category-I candidates) marks inPhysics and Mathematics.

M.Sc. IN MATHEMATICS

Candidates who have passed the three year B.Sc. degree examination of Mangalore University or any other University considered as equivalent thereto with Mathematics as major/optional/special subject are eligible for the programme provided they have secured a minimum of 45% (40% for SC/ST/Category-I candidates) marks in Mathematics.

M.Sc. IN COUNSELLING

Candidates who have passed any Bachelor degree examination with Psychology as one of the subjects or B.S.W. Degree examination of Mangalore University or any other University considered as equivalent thereto or graduates with P.G. Diploma/Diploma in Counselling or graduates with atleast 2 years of work experience as Counsellor are eligible for the programme provided they have secured a minimum of 45% (40% for SC/ST/Category-I candidates) in aggregateIncluding Languagesand Group III Subjects.

 M.Sc. IN CORPORATE PSYCHOLOGY

Candidates who have passed the three year degree examination in Psychology/Commerce/Business Administration/Business Management/ Human Resource Development/Hotel Management/or a degree in Social Work of Mangalore University or any other University considered as equivalent thereto are eligible for the programmeprovided they have secured a minimum of 45%(40% for SC/ST/Category-I candidates)marks in aggregate Including Languagesand Group III subjects.

 M.Sc IN FOOD SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY

Candidates who have passed the three years B.Sc. degree examination of Mangalore University or any other University considered as equivalent theretowith a minimum of 45% (40% for SC/ST/Category-I candidates) marks in aggregate Excluding Languages and Group III Subjects are eligible for the programme provided they have studied Chemistry/Biochemistry and Any Two of the following optional/major/ special subjects:
Botany, Biotechnology, Environmental Science, Forestry, Food Science, Home Science, Horticulture, Microbiology, Pharmacognosy, Zoologyand Physiology

Candidates who have passed Bachelor Degree examination in Food Nutrition and Dietetics, Food Science and Quality Control, Food Technology and Quality Assurance, Agriculture, Horticulture, Fishery Science and Engineering Biotechnology with 45% (40% for SC/ST/Category-I candidates)marks in aggregate Excluding Languages and Group III Subjects are also eligible.

M.Sc IN FOOD SCIENCE, NUTRITION AND DIETETICS:

Candidates who have passed the three years B.Sc. degree examinations of Mangalore University or any other University considered as equivalent thereto with a minimum of 45% (40% in case of SC/ST/Category-I candidates) marks in aggregate excluding languages and Group III subjects, are eligible for the programme. Provided they have studied Food Nutrition and Dietetics/ Food Science/ Biochemistry/ Chemistry as major subject and one of the following as major/optional /special subsidiary subject are preferred.
Home Science, Horticulture, Forestry, Environmental Science, Biotechnology, Botany, Microbiology, Pharmacognocy, Zoology, Physiology, Human Physiology, Agriculture, Fishery Science and Engineering Biotechnology
B.Sc graduates with Diploma/P.G. Diploma programme or U.G.C. recognized B.Vocational graduates or any graduates from the faculty of Science with P.G. Diploma programme are also eligible for admission provided they have studied one of the subjects associated with Food Science, Nutrition and Dietetics and also have studied a minimum of 45% (40% in case of SC/ST/Category-I candidates) marks in aggregate excluding languages and Group III subjects at the undergraduate level.

M.Sc. IN BIOINFORMATICS

Candidates who have passed the three year B.Sc. degree examination of Mangalore University or any other University considered as equivalent thereto are eligible for the programme with a minimum of 45% (40% for SC/ST/Category-I candidates) marks in aggregate Excluding Languages and Group III Subjects provided they have studied Chemistry/Biology either at the degree level of at least at Pre-University. Selection of candidates shall be on merit-cum-reservation on the basis of 50:50 weightage for marks in the entrance and qualifying examinations.

M.Sc. IN SOFTWARE TECHNOLOGY

Candidates who have passed any of the following Bachelor Degrees from Mangalore University or any other University considered as equivalent thereto are eligible for the programme provided they have secured a minimum of 45% (45% for SC/ST/Category-I candidates) aggregate marks Excluding Languages and Group III Subjects.

B.Sc. degree with Computer Science / Computer Applications (Vocational) as optional/major/subsidiary subject or B.Sc. (Hons) degree with Computer Science / Computer Systems / Information Science / Information Systems or B.Sc. degree with Mathematics/Statistics / Physics / Electronics / Instrumentation as optional/major/subsidiary along with PG Diploma in Computer Applications / Computer Science/ Information Technology or Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) or Bachelor of Computer Science (BCS) (Integrated Course) or Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT) or Bachelor of Information Science (BIS) or Bachelor of Engineering (BE) or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech). Selection of candidates shall be on merit-cum-reservation on the basis of 50:50 weightage for marks in the entrance and qualifying examinations.

 

MASTER OF COMPUTER APPLICATION (M.C.A.)

A candidate who has passed any under graduate examination or equivalent examination with Mathematics or Statistics or Compute Science or Computer Applications or Business Mathematics or Business Statistics as one of the optional subject and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks taken together in all the subjects in all the years is eligible for admission to MCA courses. Provided that in respect of candidate who has studied and passed one of the Subjects specified above in Pre-University Course with 50% of marks in that subject shall also be considered for admission.
 

 

M.B.A.

Candidates who have passed any Bachelor Degree examination of Mangalore University or any other University considered as equivalent thereto are eligible for the programme they have secured a minimum of 50% (45% for SC/ST/Category-I candidates) marks in aggregate Including Language subjects. The eligibility criteria and admissions shall be as determined by the Government of Karnataka from time to time.
